All wildlife is a vital part of the South fork of Long Island’s eco-system and a nice reminder that the East End is one of the last places on Long Island where you can view these creatures in their natural habitat.  However, there are many instances when wildlife becomes pests to our landscape; and deer are at the top of the list when it comes to plant damage. So a deer repellents or deterrents may be in order.

Deer can wreak havoc on just about any plant that you may have on your property and once the plants are weakened by the deer damage they become predisposed to disease, insect attacks and environmental stress.

A prime time for the deer to inflict damage to your property is during the winter months when it is harder for them to find food.  It is at this time when your favorite Evergreens, including but not limited to Arborvitaes, Yews, Euonymous, Azaleas, Rhododendrons, Cypress and even Hollies become their source of food.  Here at Natures Guardian, Inc. we believe in taking pro-active steps to pest management including appropriate measures to prevent deer damage during the winter months.  These measures include repellents, deer fencing and netting to name a few.
