Protecting, Nurturing and Beautifying Landscapes in the Hamptons Since 1980

Landscape Design Planning

Your family yard is an extension of your home. Even though plants go dormant in the winter you don’t have to. What better time is it to plan the landscape design of your new room in your home, outdoors, while the snow begins to fall.

Since landscape companies like ours are less busy in the winter months it’s a great time to contact us. We can help you plan, research, and design the project during the winter months for installation in the early spring. Even though the landscape may be bleak,  a professional landscape designer can get a good feel for your property’s flow, the way the spaces are laid out and connect as well as sight lines.

More time to plan, more time to properly budget and save, and more time spent making sure to get all the details just right. Designing your new Hamptons outdoor space in the winter is a win-win situation for everyone involved. Another benefit of starting early is that the plants have more time to acclimate before the heat of summer.

Be sure to hire a qualified landscape design/hardscape contractor; go see material choices in person; and check out online resources for great inspiration. But probably the best advice is to make sure you take your time and plan well in advance. Keep in mind there may be permits that may be required depending on whether you plan involves removal of trees, construction of patios, walls, fencing, a pool, or other structures. This can be a lengthy process that can take weeks or even months depending on the municipality and what type of work you are planning. If the work proposed does not meet building code, a variance may be required making the process even more difficult and time consuming.

Give us a call to get started on your project and beat the spring rush!
